GUIDELINES FOR REGIONAL SEMINARS

1. Regional events that are reimbursed by USA are open to all USA members.  These events are intended to strengthen member skills as a service to members and not as income producing events for the region.
2. Regional educational events should be discussed and approved by member clubs by the usual voting process.
3. Topics, seminar leaders and location should all be approved by the voting process.
4. A Seminar Evaluation Form* should be a part of regional seminars and should be completed by each participant and seminar leader and after review by the RD and RTD sent to the chair of the Education Committee to be compiled as part of our national effort to evaluate our educational efforts.
5. Spending guidelines for seminar leaders are generally on the modest level (similar to judging fees) plus expenses unless the region votes for a higher level.  USA has the option to set limits on costs that will be reimbursed.
6. Seminars can be held in conjunction with a regional event or as a free standing event, both approaches have advantages, again it is a matter for the clubs to choose.
7. Seminars must be advertised on USA’s website at least one month prior to the event.
8. The host club is encouraged to sell food, beverages and logo items to participants.  Profits from this activity belong to the host club.
9. Participants must complete a hold harmless statement** prior to participating in the event.  Sample of the waiver follows.
